Guerrilla Lovers.

"Jesus was the only sinless person who ever lived, but he drew the most sinful people to him like a magnet."

"A love revolution spreads from person to person, one individual to another."

I just got Vince Antonucci's new book, Guerrilla Lovers. It is phenomenal, I expected no less. Vince used to be a associate pastor at New Life until he and Joe Heilman [New Life's first music minister] ventured to VA Beach to spread the love of God and start the church Forefront. Currently Vince and his wife, Jen are starting Verve, a church for people that hate church on the Strip in Las Vegas. Awesome!

I love how Vince points out how much the Christian movement gained momentum and people when it first started, when people didn't have Christian TV, flashy church buildings, cheesy t-shirts and bumper stickers, or Christian websites. The first Christians didn't even have a Bible to share with people. They just loved people. They formed relationships and took care of people who needed it. They sacrificed their own happiness and health to care for and show Jesus to others. And they multiplied like like college boys on a pan of unattended brownies. We have so many resources and technology, but Christians hardly get their hands dirty serving people anymore. What is that?

Guerrilla Lovers is challenging and the real life stories in it are inspiring. It makes me wish I didn't live in "The MACU Bubble" where it is harder for me to make relationships and love people. But, maybe the more work I put into finding people, and going out of my way to surprise attack people with love, the more meaningful and life-changing it will be.

In the words of The Beatles,
"You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world"

And from Mahatma Gandhi,
"Be the change you want to see in the world." and, "In a gentle way you can shake the world."

Mother Teresa stated,
"Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat."

"Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired."

"If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it. "

Don't wait around for someone else to take the lead, GO OUT! START A REVOLUTION!! And while you're out there, get Vince's book, and let it transform your heart and life. Change the world with revolutionary compassion. And start with those in your community who are often overlooked. Make someone's day and it'll make yours.

LOVELOVELOVE!
